Fall fashion is elite. The weather? Completely uncooperative.
One minute you’re mentally prepared for hoodies, football, pumpkin everything, and cute fall outfits. The next minute it’s 82 degrees outside and you’re questioning every decision you made while getting dressed.
This is exactly why I love a graphic tee.
Give me a cute graphic, my favorite jeans, sneakers, and maybe a jacket I’ll carry around more than I actually wear, and I’m good.
And fall 2026 graphics are GOOD.
We’re seeing everything from football and game-day designs to retro pumpkins, bows, Halloween graphics, faith-inspired tees, cozy sayings, and graphics that don’t look like the exact same shirt everybody else on the internet is wearing.
At MadreForte, that last part matters.
I want pieces that are comfortable enough for real life but still have personality. 1. Game Day Graphics That Aren’t Boring
Football season basically has its own wardrobe at this point.
But game-day style has gotten WAY better than throwing on an oversized team shirt and calling it a day.
This year we’re seeing football graphics with bows, distressed details, checkerboard prints, retro lettering, team colors, leopard accents, and designs that work whether you actually know the score or you’re mostly there for the food.
No judgment. I support both types of fans.
The easiest outfit?
Game-day graphic + jeans + sneakers.
Done.
For warmer games, wear it with denim shorts. When Chicago finally remembers it’s supposed to be fall, swap those for jeans and throw on a jacket or flannel.
And yes, football-mom graphics absolutely count as game-day apparel. Some of us are putting in more hours than the actual players.
2. Fall Graphics Without Pumpkin Overload
Listen, I love fall.
But not every fall shirt needs seventeen orange pumpkins and the word blessed written across it.
Fall graphics have gotten a lot more wearable. Think vintage pumpkins, florals, bows, coffee, cozy sayings, muted colors, retro designs, and little seasonal details that say fall without screaming it from across the parking lot.
Those are also the graphics you’ll actually wear more than twice.
Pair them with denim, leggings, a cardigan, or a denim jacket and you’ve got an outfit without having to think too hard about it.
Which, personally, is my favorite kind of outfit.
3. Cute Halloween > Costume Halloween
Halloween graphics have officially entered their cute era, and I am here for it.
Ghosts. Bows. Pink. Florals. Retro prints. Leopard accents. Funny sayings.
Basically Halloween, but make it wearable.
I especially love Halloween graphics that you can start wearing in September instead of buying something that only makes sense for approximately six hours on October 31.
Throw one on with black jeans or leggings and sneakers and you’re done.
Festive without looking like you lost a bet at Spirit Halloween.
4. Retro Graphics Are Still Everywhere
Millennials, our time has apparently come.
Everything we wore, loved, or grew up around is now considered “retro,” which feels personally offensive, but at least the graphics are cute.
Washed colors, vintage-inspired lettering, checkerboard patterns, distressed prints, old-school football designs, and throwback color combinations are everywhere this fall.
The best part about a statement graphic is that you really don’t need to do much else.
Jeans. Shoes. Maybe earrings.
Let the shirt do the work.
5. Bows Aren’t Going Anywhere
If you thought the bow trend was going to disappear, apparently not.
And honestly? I’m not mad about it.
We’re seeing bows mixed into football graphics, pumpkins, seasonal designs, coquette-inspired graphics, and even everyday sayings.
They give a graphic a feminine touch without making the entire outfit feel overly sweet.
The trick is not competing with the shirt.
If your graphic already has bows, leopard, bright colors, and a whole personality of its own, keep everything else simple.
Your outfit does not need seven main characters.
6. Thanksgiving Graphics You Can Wear Before Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving shirts should not have a one-day expiration date.
Give me gratitude, pie, coffee, fall florals, funny family sayings, pumpkins, and all the comfortable things.
These are the shirts you can wear throughout October and November for Friendsgiving, family dinners, grocery runs, school events, cooking, traveling, or hiding in another room when somebody starts a political argument at Thanksgiving.
And because Thanksgiving involves food, I strongly recommend pairing yours with pants that forgive you.

7. Faith-Inspired Graphics With Meaning
Some graphics are cute because they’re cute.
Others mean something.
Faith-inspired tees are one of my favorite ways to wear a message that actually matters to you, especially during a season centered around gratitude.
Scripture-inspired designs, crosses, florals, encouraging messages, and reminders of faith can be worn far beyond fall.
Pair one with jeans and sneakers for everyday life, dress it up slightly with a cardigan and boots, or wear it to church and then straight to brunch.
Because we love versatility.
8. The Graphic Tee + Layer Formula
This is where graphic tees earn their keep.
September around Chicago can basically experience three seasons before dinner, so layers are not optional.
Start with your graphic tee and add whatever the weather decides to require:
Casual: Graphic tee + jeans + sneakers
Cozy: Graphic tee + cardigan + leggings + ankle boots
Game Day: Football graphic + jeans + sneakers + jacket

That last category deserves significantly more recognition.
How to Pick a Graphic Tee You’ll Actually Wear
Here’s my rule:
Don’t buy it just because it’s seasonal. Buy it because it feels like you.
If you’re obsessed with football, get the football tee.
If Halloween is basically your personality from September 1 through October 31, bring on the ghosts.
If you love faith-based graphics, wear the message that means something to you.
If you see a sarcastic graphic and immediately think, “Yep. That’s me,” congratulations. We found your shirt.
Your clothes should feel personal.
That’s kind of the whole point.
Look at what you already own
You don’t need an entirely new wardrobe every season.
A good graphic tee should work with things already hanging in your closet: your favorite denim, black leggings, sneakers, boots, cardigans, jackets.
That’s why I love graphics on versatile colors like cream, black, charcoal, sage, muted fall tones, and classic neutrals.
Stop saving clothes for an “occasion”
Wear the shirt.
Seriously.
Wear it to Target. Wear it to school pickup. Wear it to lunch. Wear it while traveling. Wear it to the football game. Wear it on some completely uneventful Tuesday.
Cute clothes do not require a special event.
Pay attention to fit
Not every tee fits the same, especially when you’re shopping graphic apparel.
Some are relaxed. Some are more fitted. Some are unisex. Some are oversized.

When can I start wearing fall graphic tees?
Whenever you want.
I refuse to let a calendar dictate when I’m allowed to wear a pumpkin.
But realistically, late August and September are perfect for lightweight fall graphics, especially when it’s still warm outside. Save the sweatshirts and heavier layers for when the Midwest weather decides to cooperate.
Can women over 40 wear graphic tees?
Absolutely.
And I would actually like to retire the entire idea that women hit a certain age and suddenly have to dress boring.
Graphic tees are about personality, not age.
The difference is simply how you style them.
Pair yours with good denim, a jacket, sneakers, boots, or accessories that make the outfit feel like you.
Confidence doesn’t have an age limit.
Can I dress up a graphic tee?
Yep.
Try dark denim, a front tuck, ankle boots, statement earrings, and a structured jacket or cardigan.
You’re still comfortable, but now it looks like you made significantly more effort than you actually did.

Are oversized graphic tees still in style?
Yes.
Wear them with leggings, biker shorts, or fitted denim to balance the shape.
And sometimes oversized isn’t about a trend.
Sometimes we simply do not want our shirt touching us that day.

Can I wear Halloween graphics after October 31?
Technically, you can wear whatever the hell you want.
But pumpkin, floral, gratitude, Western, and general fall designs transition into November more easily than graphics that are specifically Halloween-themed.

Fall style doesn’t need to be complicated.
It doesn’t need to be perfectly coordinated.
And it definitely doesn’t need to look exactly like everybody else’s.
Find the graphic that makes you laugh, means something to you, represents something you love, or just makes you feel GOOD when you put it on.
